Here is a little Olympic Softball history. The first Olympic softball game the United States played was held on July 21, 1996 against Puerto Rico. The US won 10-0 with the game being called in the sixth inning due to the run ahead rule. The US had 13 hits and Dot Richardson hit the first home run in Olympic softball history. Michele Granger struck out 10 and only gave up 2 hits. Not bad for a first.
